Options for building your greenhouse

Installation on a wooden base

It all starts with a good foundation!

Find out how we install the majority of our greenhouses and how to be prepared for an installation!

Installation on land (Most popular option)

Our greenhouses are generally installed directly on the ground, here are the advantages of this practice:

The whole thing retains the natural advantages of an outdoor garden, while having the practical aspects of a greenhouse (protection, automation, heating, layout, etc.)

But in order to install the greenhouse in this way, here is the option ''Installation on treated wood base'' which is absolutely essential .

We set the base perfectly level and square in order to mount the greenhouse. It is also fixed to the ground by large steel rods to prevent any movement during high winds.

There are several options available to you for your base:

In order to preserve your base and keep it from coming into direct contact with the humidity of the earth, we strongly suggest installing it on crushed stones (perimeter of the base). Here are the options:

As you can see in the pictures, several additional options regarding the base are available (price depending on model):

Although it is rare, some clients undertake the construction of their base. In this case, we share the plan of the base as well as the approximate number of bags of stones needed so that they can prepare it before our arrival. (The base must absolutely be level, square and anchored to the ground)

Additional options available:

Geotextile fabric under the surface of the greenhouse

Crushed stones below the perimeter of the base

Buried wire mesh around the perimeter of the greenhouse

Cedar base

Cedar mulch in/around the greenhouse

Installation on slabs (already in place)

Here is the option ''Installation on treated wood base'' which is absolutely essential in order to install the greenhouse on the ground. The service we offer includes the levelling of the ground beforehand using our rototiller. The installation location must be level to the eye, otherwise we must provide additional equipment for the levelling of the greenhouse.

We install the base perfectly level and square in order to mount the greenhouse on it. It is also fixed to the ground by large steel rods to prevent movement during high winds.

Although it is rare, some clients undertake the construction of their base (making sure to respect our plan, level and square)

For those who have a slab beforehand, we can anchor the greenhouse to the slab without a base.

Additional options available:

10mm polycarbonate for side walls

Do you want to heat your greenhouse in winter?

All front and back walls of our greenhouses are made with 10mm polycarbonate sheets .

We choose this type of polycarbonate because it is very robust and insulated. These sheets have a greater insulation capacity and therefore allow, with a good heating system, to extend your harvests even more significantly!

As for the side walls , the base price of our greenhouses includes 6mm polycarbonate sheets . But the 10mm polycarbonate option allows you to have the side walls also in 10mm polycarbonate, which is a wise choice for those who plan to heat their greenhouse in cold weather.

Here is the difference between the two thicknesses of polycarbonate.

Mesh ventilation and pollination hatches in the facades

For cross ventilation!

In order to improve pollination and ventilation , we offer this option of traps which are practical, robust and very chic

These hatches are on hinges and have a small hook and a chain to adjust the desired opening

We also screened the opening to prevent unwanted small animals from entering the greenhouse.

These polycarbonate hatches are now included in all our models in the Suburb or Rural range (wooden hatches optional)

For the Urban model (10' wide) without this option, the front and rear wall bottoms are fixed and made of polycarbonate.

Mesh ventilation and pollination hatches in the lower side walls

Add as many as you want!

Under the same principle as the front and rear hatches, these hatches provide good ventilation and pollination.

Made of polycarbonate , these are completely removable and the opening is also meshed.

Although these hatches can be ordered individually, we always suggest adding in multiples of 2 so that they can be installed opposite each other and create better ventilation.

Here are the dimensions and prices of the side hatches according to the model:

Automatic openings

For peace of mind!

Here is our automatic opening option, which is located at the highest point of the greenhouse, above the door. This autonomous system is practical especially during the fall, when the plants are mature and the outside temperature is cold. For people who like to have peace of mind, you can leave your windows closed and this system will open if the internal temperature rises too much, letting the heat escape until a comfortable room temperature for the plants.

Details and maintenance:

- It is a system that works by thermal expansion , so no need for electricity or batteries.

- It is a supplementary system and not a system that will regulate the temperature of the greenhouse all year round (in summer you will still have to open the greenhouse windows) .

- As maintenance, the cylinder should be removed when not in use for a long time and oiled a few times.

- The system allows for an opening of about 12'' of the window and the window hole has a small opening, but is located at the highest point of the greenhouse, so where the heat is.

- There will be no mesh in the opening as this would prevent the installation of the system.

- In order to create a better venturi effect , we offer a system on each side of the greenhouse.

Custom enlargement

Because we like large-scale projects!

All of our longer models can be extended in length by 4' by the width of the greenhouse in question.

An extension for a 12' wide model represents an increase of 48 square feet (12' x 4') and therefore allows you to have a custom greenhouse , of the desired length. You can add as many extensions as you want, in multiples of 4' !

Here is a 12' x 32' and 16' x 44'  installation!

Accessories to make your greenhouse grow easier

Cedar vegetable garden boxes

Grow in our trays specially adapted to our greenhouse models!

In order to properly arrange the interior of your urban greenhouse, here are some cedar growing trays.

These perfectly fill the available space in the greenhouse. We offer combos to fully develop the surface area of our greenhouse models. Depending on the width of the greenhouse, there are three or four rows of bins as well as a longer bin for the back wall. Some customers prefer to remove the back bin since there is a door, but to make the most of the growing space , it is better to keep it!

Our trays are bottomless to allow the roots to seek out their nutrients in the soil and to drain the watering water well.

Here are the dimensions and prices of the bins (per unit) depending on the model:

We also offer vegetable garden bin combos that offer a discount of almost 15% compared to purchasing individual bins! (Price depending on model and length of the greenhouse)

Combo vegetable garden bins, Suburb model + 30 '' shelves

Seedling tablets

These shelves will help you in growing seedlings and as storage for gardening tools!

These are completely removable and very practical for growing seedlings in spring, or simply as storage

They are built of cedar and have a 2'' x 2'' structure under the boards .

The treated wood support structure attached to the greenhouse does not interfere with the shelves when they are removed and can therefore be left in place until the shelves need to be replaced.

Here are the dimensions and prices of the shelf hatches according to the model:

Lighting System (LED)

Extend your harvests by adding a grow light system!

The lighting circuit includes the installation of a system of LED growing lamps, designed specifically for greenhouse cultivation.

These lamps have a full spectrum between 400nm and 800nm, infinitely close to sunlight , to improve growth performance for all stages of plant growth (from germination to flowering)

The lighting system includes:

This system is easily connected to a regular house extension , but you need to provide a power supply to connect the two circuits (one on each side of the greenhouse)

Two-tier cedar work table

What could be better than being comfortable working in your greenhouse!

In order to satisfy a special request, here is a small potting cabinet with two levels.

This work table is at an ideal height for standing work. It has storage space underneath to double the surface area. Also, it is the same size as the growing trays, which makes it easy to replace one of the trays in the center.

As materials used, the table is entirely made of cedar , the structure is 2x2 covered with 1'' thick boards.

Here are the dimensions and prices of the work tables according to the model:

When added to the vegetable bin combo, the price of one of the bins in the center is subtracted from that of the table*
